The Green Streets concept are a viable solution in developed areas with little open space to install varied infrastructure interventions, from bioswales to upsized pipes. Different concepts can be utilized throughout, depending on whether the roadway will remain a two-way street or changed to a one-way street. In either scenario, on street parking is maintained to the greatest extent possible.

We identified numerous streets throughout the neighborhood that could be good candidates for this type of improvement. For this study, four blocks of Bartholomew St. were selected for evaluation between N. Galvez St. and N. Dorgenois St. Both the one-way and two-way scenarios were evaluated for both cost and flood reduction. This exhibit highlights the proposed improvement for the one-way street design.
