POTENTIAL PROJECT F

ODILE DAVIS PLAYGROUD
SITE OWNER - CITY OF NEW ORLEANS

Project F proposes installing an underground storage detention tank under Odile Davis Park. The tank will be 3 feet deep with 2 feet of ground cover. Once installed, the space above the tank can revert to a grassy field that can be used for sports and community programming. We also propose upsizing the existing drainage connections and installing a depressed basketball court to hold stormwater temporarily. A similar project was built at A.L. Davis Park in Central City.

The image with the green hexagons is from the drainage model and shows the improvements gained from implementing the potential project.  As you can see, the benefits are not restricted to the area around the project, but cascade through the drainage system as a whole.
