In this area near the Florida Avenue Canal where flooding is a continuous issue, this project proposes a combination of surface detention in an open area owned by the City of New Orleans and underground storage below the elevated portion of France Road. The storage areas will provide an area of relief for stormwater when the pump station cannot keep up with rainfall.
